We had another great session at Seals in Cape St Francis on Saturday. The wind was the same, North westerly , cross offshore and gusty but much stronger this time. The swell had dropped down but we still had a nice hollow wave running the length of the beach. The 9m Waroo proved itself again, and was incredibly reliable and stable considering the wind conditions.
I also had a chance to try the new 2009 Guroo Kite from Best. The easiest kite to learn to kiteboard. This super stable kite has been great with the strong winds that we have experienced, and we are now using the bigger sizes for lessons during winter in Cape Town. The 6m and 9m Guroo are super stable in the sky, yet have the performance to do anything you wish. The 9m impressed me with a few big old school style Kite loops. With its really easy relaunch from the water, this kite makes for confidence building sessions. Super stable in the gusts and solid in the sky. I was really impressed with the bigger sizes and regularly use them for my personal kiting sessions. Thanks again to Deon and the guys at St Francis for a great session.
Sunday was the long trek back to Cape Town as the forecast looked really bad for the next 5 days. I was greeted by snow capped mountains on the way, what an awesome sight.....thoughts of finding a flat field full of snow and a calm but steady wind are on the cards.......will keep you posted.
All for now
