Re: New wetsuit - Balloon legs

Ja, Those Ion 3/4 legs start looking like they may be answer. In the meantime (ie: current economic standing) I may have to consider the tool time Tim approach and set to it (the wetsuit) with sewing machine and carpet knife.

Rather have it done by someone who fixes wetsuits cause we tried cutting the legs off, but then it pulls into your nuts, haha. On a 3/4 the seam is tighter at the leg opening. The suit was taken to a guy that does repairs and it was sorted and cheap.

thanks dawie you directions and tip was golden, got myself a quicksilver not the one you mentioned (they only had 2 in XXL of that) they also had a billabong revolution X for R1800 which is dirt cheap.

They also have a huge range of wetsuits not on special.

One wonders what impact the fit of the suit makes? How sure can you be that the suit size is optimal for you? I normally decide that all is well if I've got rubber to my wrists and ankles and the wobbly bits dont wobble anywore. At the fitting of the quickie I broke into such a sweat getting it on I felt bad about not taking it. At the end though it felt pretty good and everything looked svelt and tight in the mirror (a big deal for thirty somethings!) so I was pleased with the purchase. From what I can figure it's water that gets forced up the legs during riding that causes the balloon affliction, so the dude with the surfboard leash vibe is also onto something. I may resort to duct tape as a trial measure.

spose you dont really know what size if good for you until you try it out. I was really temped by the billabong but the neck thing put me off.

All quality stores should have staff trained on how a wet suit should fit, there are guidlines for this :-)
