    Re: Wensday Night Racing

Oh me of little faith. From my office in Long St the wind looked mif -- went down a bit later to see what was going on and it was epic. Good wind, loads of guys on the water racing their little hearts out.

    OK, for sure next week.

    Results?

    Re: Wednesday Night Racing

What a race!! Totally agree that it's great for kiting in CT, and well organised - thanks Olaf. For anybody reading this and not knowing what the course looks like it's basically:
    1. Start across from yo-mojo (Kitecircle / down from Kitebeach)
    2. Upwind to Dolphin beach
    3. Downwind to doodles
    4. Upwind to Dolphin beach
    5. Downwind to the finish across from yo-mojo.

I saw a 3 kite tangle at the start, I trust the guys are ok?

    Great concept...Classic Race...great fun.

Well done boys you have created a monster.

    Best sunset session eva!

Never thaught that the same old strip that we been charging down for 10 odd years could suddenly become so exiting again.

Look forward to wednesday evening sundownwers @ jo Mojo's with the greatest bunch of kiters on the planet.

That is not 100 % correct half of those riders are also DNS so not that bad but the course is long. be it as it may we are working on some solutions to make it a little shorter.

Brand glad that you enjoyed it .

The overall results should be out to day.

    Hey Olaf

    Thanks for the race. I know there are some teething problems and have noticed the following errors for you to change;

    1. Colin H was on a TT this week.
    2. I was ahead of Anton Fourie and on a Directional.

Was a lot of fun and next time I will start with you lot! Must get some contact lenses or a watch! :(

    Cheers

    Rob

    Re: Wednesday Night Racing

Thanks to everyone involved in organising of the race, especially Olaf. This was my first race and I was pretty nervous especially after narrowly missing the three-kite pile up at the start, but as soon as I got clean air the nerves settled and I was in my element. It was a total rush; I learnt a great deal especially on the downwind section, I will definitely be doing this again. I enjoyed the distance as it gave you some time to get into the groove and we all need the workout! Great party afterwards, nice barmaids!

    Cheers
