Dunno why they branding it as durbs, oh well glad it isnt durbs stadium.

From the spray you'll see the wind is offshore on those pics, i.e. little or no chop. Waves are breaking super nice though...

The wind has already reached the South Coast and by the Aviation prediction it should be here in an hour or so ....................

Ha HA HA ok So the jokes on me. At least I managed a session in the storm though.

After loads of deliberation it has been decided that the The Kites Nest/Downwindshuttle crew should move to Mauritius for the next three weeks.

The not so good thing is that the cold front that is causingt all the great conditions here has switched off the wind for next few days on the island.

But that is not too sad as I am sure that between 1 eye, the yacht and all the rest of the SA crew that is going there will be loads of fun to be had.

Have some new toys to try out there like a radio helmet as well as some other fun stuff so will keep out of trouble I,m sure.

As luck would have it 30 min after it got dark the SW hammered through Durbs gusting over 40 knts ... It has backed off completely now and moved out to sea - on the horizon it must be a good 30 kn - but it is filling in and I rekon we will be on the water in an hour or so ! Bonus is that there is not a cloud in the sky and the temp is warming up nicely -

Sunday still looks good as well ! Look out for pics later - swell is still good but not as big - it is supposed to peak later this after noon -

Downwind madness on the outgoing tide !

Brad,

I hear there are 21 containers floating around CAMPS BAY right in front of the sand bar and inside them are a few SUP boards which i think ROB said he was waiting for so if you want new toys suggest you get down there and claim salvage rights, as long as it is off the beach and still floating you have some argument for sure:

I also hear there are some CHINESE scooters.

I saw that on news24 earlier this morning. We no long just have to look out for obstruction on land .... and now have to keep an eye out for semi submerged containers in the water.

That stadium in the pics is in Malaysia. The roof collapsed sometime last week. I am a contracts manager working on the 2010 stadium in PE. That incident caused a stir in our industry and is a bit close to home. It was built by Korean contractors and apparently local engineers had been warning the authorities that there were problems..no listened..until now. No one was hurt luckily.

We also received the emails calling it Durban. Not very bright some @#% getting his lame kicks.
