I went to Sterkies yesterday and it blew a fair lick, but not as strong as I would have expected. It blew around 35 knots with occasional gusts higher than this, but it was bit erratic at times.
It blew West most of the day and switched NW in the late afternoon, which is contrary to it's normal pattern.
This wind shift caught me out as I trekked 9+ km's to the Southern bay on a speedboard through big swell/chop in the early afternoon, only to find the wind almost dead square. I then tried the Northern bay in the late afternoon, only to have the wind too broad as it switched NW. I had one heck of a work out though.
