Awesome pictures Bruce and thanks for the kind words. Well done on coming second.

I'd like to have another speed event at Sterkies this September, as the wind is usually stronger and more constant then, and I don't want guys to wait a year before trying speed again.

Let's get stuck in and make this a regular Autumn/Spring fixture.

I'll have an inter-provincial floating trophy made for the next event as I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent turnout of Durban guys. I'm sure that Rob Munro and his very capable speed crew will join us next time, so it'll be a good contest between Gauteng, KZN, and the Cape.

We could take the speed average of the top 3 riders from each province to decide the winner.

I'm pleased to announce the second inland speed event at Sterkies which will be held in September 2008.
The first event had a full field and was well supported by both Gauteng and KZN kiters.

This event promises to be bigger and better with an inter-provincial contest and most improved rider award based on the percentage speed improvement from the first event. More prizes and a 40 knot club award.
A marshal will be stationed at the end of the run this time to caution riders who break the rules, and to decide who gets the biggest wipe-out award.
I'll also have a camera filming up the length of the course to capture the fastest runs of the day, wipeouts and any infringements.
