regarding nick at mountain sails i can only say this is a guy who has overcome the odds in this country and has invested money into great machinery and is providing the most important thing value for money and a speedy turn around time often working into the night to get the job done so lets not judge nick berfore we look at his passion for what he does any way competitition will be only good for the consumer

from what i hear most of the euros get the shits with a dec closure times and the weekend closures during the busiest time of the year

also rob im seeing loads of naish kites in there. not sure what this means

I waited 5 weeks for my repair from Paul in Feb. I started losing hope after the third week. He did an incredible job though, seems to fly exactly the same as it did before I tore it in half.

Re: Whats the deal with kite repairs?

Have used Nick at mountain sails in Blouberg road for 2  repairs which were done very quickly (1-2 days) and at a very reasonable price. HIs experience with kites is limited, but makes up for it with enthusiasm and effort. The kites flies the same as it did before the damage.

I have also taken my kite to Paul twice, but was scared away both times, by the turnaround time, which was estimated at over a week.

This damage to my 9m  x-bow below was repaired by Paul, I got it back 4 weeks from giving the kite to the Cabrinha shop – the kite looks and feels as good as new, brilliant job by Paul and the shop who sorted the bar and lines – worth the wait in the end – I had to make do with my 12 bow and old C kites during that time - get a backup

Re: Whats the deal with kite repairs?

Not sure why others are experiencing problems with Pauls turnaround times, could be the shop/depot is not getting the kites in to him timeously? we take damaged gear in every Mon/Tues and to date have always had them back at Suntrax by the Friday in time for the weekend.
