Re: whats the best 9m kite

As was mentioned above, F.One and Bandit (SAME KITE).... F.One = Brand, Bandit = Model.
Regarding Naish, i'd rather go for the Torch over the Sigma Range.
Just my opinion. I've ridden the Helix, and compared to the Torch, i feel it's chalk & cheese.

Test 'em all.. and good luck!

    Hey.

As a fellow intermediate kiter and not a pro or brand representative heres my take on it. Ive tried a few different kites and have settled on the 9m Naish Helix. think it is absolutely amazing. The depower is amazing and the control in the high winds fantastic. It seems to even make the very gusty days enjoyable. I used to have a 2006 shockwave and moved to the sigma shape helix... the cult it also great and have flown the 10.5 in high winds no issue but find the helix is better suited if you coming from the shockwave as it seems to have more grunt and a bit more responsive to me but then again Rob Munro can better shed light there. I would not even hesitate get yourself a helix 9m

thanks guys, yep the bandit is the f-one, look into it today, very popular here. Wickeddog it is good to here your comparison having also flown shockwaves, and I must admit I do suffer from intense brand loyalty in most aspects....in all things not just kites, is very sad....

I have looked into ozone and flexifoil too as they are all over the place, as well as Liquid force, RRDand Ocean Rodeo, brands I did not come across in SA, but they seem to be a little higher priced than the naish/f-one/best brands.

I am hopefully going to demo the bandit and helix this weekend or next.

thanks again for all the help guys
    cheers

    Hey Gary!

You have had some awesome times with Naish, long may they continue.  When you try the Helix, see if they have 24m lines ( you can get 4m extensions to add to the standard 20m), a lot of people here are enjoying them on slightly longer lines : : More Hang time, softer gust control and even better low end performance.

Let me know how you get on and hope the snow has finshed for you all..... :-)

    Cheers

Re: whats the best 9m kite

I still fly a 2006 Fone tribal. Very stable and not as boring as a best kite for example. altough a small bowkite is good for riding surfboards..

    BORING BEST KITE!!!!

    thats slander mate

if you find it boring its because youre playing it safe ,or to cheap to fork out for (what is still a very fair price) a nemesis

if you find the nemesis dull my apoligies , you must be andre or abreu wasting time on a windless day

Re: whats the best 9m kite

ok I have to be less outspoken on this. Ive tries the bularoo and it is a beginners kite, that offers lots of fun for advanced kiters as well of course. but the bar pressure on the bularoo is too light and it doenst jump as aggresively as a tribal. The nemesis Ive never flown. Can you tell me about the characteristics on that one?

Re: whats the best 9m kite

gonna have to agree with you on the bularoo and even though im a staunch best supporter would even go as far to say 2007 waroo falls in the same category

the nemesis has more of c kite feel ( if I'm allowed to say that , i do still fly my naish x3 s when in SA and the yarga 05 ) its super fast , so much so that you can still give yourself a beating if daydreaming

    jumps are sooo floaty

i have been totally comfortable unhooking attempting stuff i would not have on other kites

to quote a blog some where else ,it has a sweet zone not a sweet spot

with the cuben fibre LE you really got to pump it though, it comes with a gauge on the pump ,good warm up

go ask the boys at best Africa for a demo

bring the gold card , you get what you pay for

enjoy the African sun Caribbean breeze is coming up gotta fly

    today I'm gonna land it
