Hi kite friends,
Was in Egypt last July/August and it was a wonderful kitetrip.
I kited in five different spots, Hurghada, Sharm el Sheik, Dahab, Ras Sudr and El Gouna. It is such a great experience to travel with local egyptian bus (very cheap and intense).
Do not miss snorkling/diving in Hurghada, Sharm and Dahab. Spend also a few days in Cairo and Luxor. The old egyptian culture is amazing.
Here is a litte kitereview on each spot:
Hurghada (Magawish hotel): Very nice kite station with a super falt water outside on a sandbank. You can jump over the sandbank. Not so many kiters. Beach for landing is relatively small
El gouna: Large beach with lots lots and lots of kiters in the water. Quite flat.
Sharm el Sheik: Really hot water, nice kitestation. Very shallow water. Beware of the reef outside.
Dahab: very good for windsurfing, a bit too gusty for kiting but strong wind, great for snorkling
Ras Sudr: Defenitely the best place for freestyle kiting. Super super flat lagoon. Just great. Nice kitestation.
Combine culture, kiting and diving.
Have fun
