We are getting the first shipment of the Takoon Nova 3 in next week. Funny that you mention grunt as this is what they have targeted the Nova 3 to do - to provide a kite with more grunt. You actually have a special setting on the kite that allows you to fine tune the gruntiness of the kite.
Takoon have always produced a kite that is one of the best wave riding kites on the market. Last year at the Jeep South Coast contest - which was a wave riding contest - 3 of the 4 kites in the final were Takoons.
They have produced some interesting changes in this kite and I am super excited about this kite. Check this out - it is a review from one of the other forums on the Nova 3:
I've tried the 13, 11, and the 9m2 (although the 9 only underpowered, so did not say a thing...)
It has GREAT grunt - really awesome !
It pulls like a truck
Has quite low AR, but the depth of the profile means it has so much power, compared to the others.
And also turns on a dime because of the low AR.
Hangtime is excellent - wide and efficient lift area on this kite
