I have had the opportunity to test the new Takoon Nova 3 13 and the 9 in various conditions and I am very impressed with them. The 13 offers way more Grunt then the Furia (although it is unfair to compare the 2 as they are totally different kites) but the bottom end on the 13 is way better. The thing I enjoyed is that you can feel the pull in the light winds, on top of that by extending your front lines you can increase this grunt. So if you want the maximumon the bottom end you can have it but if you are riding the kite in average winds then you can leave it set as standard and have a kite that performs even better in those conditions.

The main thing that I am super stoked with is that it is still a huge performer in the surf. By this I mean - it still has the de-power in the bar which allows you to switch the power off and either toe-side ride the waves in cross on-shore and not be pulled off the wave or follow the kite down the line and keep in the pocket. The kite still is super stable and falls with you rather than out the sky if you are riding towards it. I also rode waves unhooked and it still has the performance to not rip you and no stalling. The bar also helps in this respect as it is super smooth - so for those riders out there that didn't like the old system - well this is a definate improvement and I am sure you will be stoked. So all in all it offeres the wave rider the perfect tool to ride all conditions.

Jumping - the lift in the kite is better and it had fantastic air time.  The flatter middle section which is created by the double strut in the middle definately helps in this respect. I also found that the kite had no problems in re-launching as it is more stable so keeps its shape in the water better added to this it has an anti-twist leading edge which is sure to help when it is rolled in the surf.

But I am sure it makes no difference what I say as you would rather have a feel for yourself - so if you want to come for a demo then give us a shout at Ocean2air and arrange a demo. Then you can see what I am talking about.

Having both the Centre line and the safety line with a plastic sleeving makes the powering and de-powering of the bar way smoother which is also a big help in the waves.
