    Maximum weight for kiting

    Hey I wanted to know if it's a problem for someone heavy to go kiting for example 100 kg / 220 lbs

    can't he take a big kite?

    Hi ezzzo

    100 kg is not and ideal weight but also not a major disadvantage.  You will be on a Bit bigger Kite than most other riders and a bit bigger board.

    Re: Maximum weight for kiting

    Weight is not a problem !!!!

    I weigh in at 115kgs, I ride 14m,10m,7m Airush Vapors on a 135x40 Lost Cause Board.

    When others are out on 9m's I'm on my 10m and when they swap to 12m I'm on my 14m but depowered, I find that I loose about 2knots compared to others, but a rarely notice it,

    14m = 13-19 knots
    10m = 20-30 knots
    7m 30 + knots.

    The only differacne I find between myself and those light *** 70-80kg riders is, when I boost I feel like I am meters above the water when in fact I'm feet, yet those other guys........ sometime I think they can really fly... ;-), but all in all it deff. will not be a problem. I used to be 125kgs and riding, I have not changed my kites or board, but find riding more fun now. So on with the diet. 100kgs is my goal.

    Re: Maximum weight for kiting

    Hey guys,

    There was a oke that used boost the biggest jumps at Kitebeach CT about 2 years ago. He was doing it on a 9m² Cabrinah bow and weighed in at around 95kg's. I know of a number of good kiters in excess of 95kg's. Its all about momentum and for bigger jumps and better hang time maybe look at powerful kites like the North Rihno's.....

    Good luck with the diet Warlock......and see ya on the water!
