Length of Kite line (needs help)

    Thanks people help

I have bought a new  LF Havoc 2007 12 meter kites and with 55 cm bar couple months, and i have a problem with the kite not enough power and it s easy to fall down.

I have found that the steering line too slack. and wondering if the steering line too slack will make the kite fall.

and wondering how long do i need for the steering line.

should the steering line and the power line would be the same length .

    Please help

Your best bet is to get hold of the shop that you bought it from and discuss it with them. Should they not know then try the manunfacturer.

As a general rule of thumb they are the same length but it depends on your bridal lines. If the steering lines are too slack it could cause the kite to fall out of the sky try tightening them by reducing your leader lines. See if that helps.

I spoke to someone the other day and he had had the same problem on another kite whichresulted in him not being able to steer the kite. It turns oout that he they had supplied him the wrong lines.

What Rob says is right - most kites nowadays use the same length lines.

You could check out the lines in the usual way by connecting the ends of the lines to a pole or something similar. With the depower strap fully depowered (if you have one) and the bar pulled out, the lines should all be under equal tension. If you release the tension they should all become slack at the same rate. The bar should also be at 90 degrees to the pole that you fixed your line to.

I had the same problem with my 9 - I had to shorten the steering lines by 10cm and then was sorted.

    Cheers
