Best Kiteboarding Africa is hitting the road!

From 4 to 14 July 2008 Best will be cruising up the East Coast of South Africa with 2008 Best products and much more to demo and check out. We will also be equipped to provide lessons to any potential beginners along the way, wind and weather dependent!

Stops include Hermanus, Mossel Bay, Sedgefield/Wilderness, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Jeffreys Bay, Port Elizabeth, Cannon Rocks, Port Alfred and East London. If we are not passing through your "local" spot, please give us a shout and we can try our Best to pop in on the way.

We will keep an update of our progress on this forum, so stay tuned if you want to know where we are next!

Hey Guys.

We are currently busy packing and getting everything prepared for the trip.

There is a huge cold front hitting Cape Town today and it looks like we are going to be chasing the wind as the cold front makes it way up the East Coast from Cape Town.

So we are hoping and praying for kite able wind.

The Best Road Trip is on the go!

It has been a hectic start with gale force winds and rain almost giving the flying fish on the vans their first flight! Shane has joined the trip with his white van, and the guys will probably reach Mossel Bay by midday. Give us a shout if you are in the vicinity:

Left a stormy and windy Cape Town behind, to see overcast but more chilled weather heading East.

Stopped at Vlees Baai and checked it out. No kiteable wind unfortunately, but plenty Whales.

Headed on to Mossel Bay. With strong offshore winds, the only chance was Diaz Beach but dodgy on the inside and too close to the harbour. On and off rain cot out kiting for the day.

Awesome wave running at inner Pool. Lets see what tomorrow brings......here or Knysna

Vic bay looked awesome. We stopped in and watched  the guys ripping the surf......again no wind!

We met up with a few guys in Vuc Bay and had lunch and then off we headed to Buffalo bay. 

Wind forecast looks awesome for Wednesday. We will probably be back in Buffalo Bay to kite and meet up with the local crowd.

We will be in and around Knysna and Plett for the rest of the day hunting for wind and secret spots.

We hit Buffalo Bay yesterday on the "Wild Side". And soon discovered why...

Winds were maxing at 45 knots with the passing cold front, so thank goodness we had our small kites with us! Starting with 5 or so kiters, soon there was about 20 riders who pulled in from Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Wilderness and Sedgefield. The 2008 Best Waroo 7 and 9 was doing the rounds as most of the guys don't even own small kites!

Today we hit Cape St Francis and caught up with Deon du Toit, who rides 2008 Best Waroos. We managed a slightly dodgy kite session at Seal Point in light winds and big waves. We have also caught up with Craig Jarvis and Bianca, who are up the coast for a trip to St Francis as well.

We are hoping for some wind so we can visit Port Elizabeth and Cannon Rocks.
