I am trying to build up a database of locations around the world. If anyone has Google Earth locations that they can email to me - I will try compile a massive database to start a free download service along the lines of the Wind Guru / GEarth database.

email me on richdirector@gmail.com with GEarth placemark. Put comments in notes under properties on placemark (ie wind direction best tide month etc)  would also be helpful. I have started on Scotland, Portugal and South African spots I know.

I am trying to build up a database of locations around the world over the next few months - to turn into placemarks copyright free that you can load into Google Earth. If everyone could make placemarks of their local or other known spots I will assemble a massive database (of knowledge) for free COPYRIGHT FREE distribution. Please make sure you write your own description under Description (under properties in the placemark) - especially useful things like best wind direction, tide season etc as well as any local hazards like tide or reefs. the more info the better.
Also only public access locations.

I have placemarked a few spots I know in South Africa, but am not sure how to email or up load these place marks from GEarth.

Can you tal kme through it? I have about 5 or 6 spots loaded

Sorry left this post on so many different kitespots - hadn't come back to check them all. I have some from all around Cape Town from Muisenberg up to Laangebaan. I am there from tuesday for 3 weeks actually cant wait. Put in your local spots as well - that kind of the on the ground knowledge i am after.

Anyway i am going off topic. Once you have loaded your spots on google earth (with descriptions written into properties hopefully) Make a folder called whatever (I normally do country) then once you have dragged your spots into that folder highlight it and under file go save as - Save it to desktop then just email me at richdirector(at)gmail.com

You can check it by trying to open it from GEarth - it will save it as a temp item.
