    xelerator Thrill

I am looking for a new board with good all round capability and is not too expensive.  I weigh 76kg and I am not a radical rider.  Looking for a board that can handle lighter wind and choppy conditions.

Anyone had any experience with the Xcelerator Thrill it seems like a nice board.  What size would you recommend.

    Re: xelerator Thrill

Sorry for this post, hope I dont rock to boat ( brake to board ), as it is not my intention, only an observation and perhaps Xcelerator has a good reason for there action. ( Let it be known then )

One of my friends was on his second Xcelerator, as he liked them, he stuck with the brand. Unfortunately a few months down the line ( 6 at most I think ) his board broke. ( hey it happens, I have broken two ).

Now what a mission to get hold of them and to get them to respond to his mail, after effort and persistence he was told that they can not replace. He accepted and asked for a discount on a new one, was told that there boards are cheap as it is and that they can not give discount.

Like I said no low blow, just fact and perhaps they have good reason for it.

All I am saying at least let it be known. When one buys a board. ( " after all it is an extreme sport and boards do take lots of punishment, therefore we do not assist in any way should it be broken ")

Check out the Cyclone. I broke mine ( that is what I do ) and would understand if Gavin told me to " go away ", but the man backs his product and sorted me out in a flash. Lightning [li]

Made me up my own board ( strong ) without a tear in his eye's ( well so I think ) Crying [:'(]

    Cheers

    Re: xelerator Thrill

seems like a cyclone pimp here

i get frustrated when i hear stories like this because people think that a warranty on a board is unconditional "of course it is!!?? " but in reality it is only covered for maufacturers defaults who knows if excellerator inspected the board and found no fault and therefore refused warranrty

i happen to know the guys very well and find them always willing to help loan boards test ect

as for getting a hold of them they are and have been for months pumping boards out and during the day they are not always able to take all the equiries that are coming direct to the factory that is why they have dealers.i have always been able to get a hold of them on there land line but if they are busy shapeing they will not come to the phone but will always return calls

i think your comments quinn are rather skewed and biased

i think in general all  SA manufactureres are trying there best against difficult odds.

and we should support as much as possible.

    Re: xelerator Thrill

Yup I think you are right about the pimping Waggy. If supporting a manufacturer who has supported you with great service and letting it be known is pimping then I am fur coat wearing low riding pimp my brother! I am sure you would love your customers to thank you for great service with a little pimp action here on this site.

On that note I must say that Waggy does offer awesome service. He helped us out tremendously with windsurfing equipment and I will definitely go back to Bay Sports in the future.

Back on tack, I have paid for all my boards with hard cold cash. After trying a few others I setlled on Cyclone. Why? Because a) his boards work b)cool custom graphics c)value for money d) phenomenal service.

Gavin has always made and delivered my boards on time. He always takes my calls and answers my mails. I have broken one of his boards. It was already a year old and broke with a very heavy kite loop landing so no fault of the board. He gave me a great discount on a new board which is still going strong. Yup I am a pimp for Cyclone because their great service deserves recognition.

I think all the kite industry guys in SA provide a great service and I have many personal experiences to prove it. But Gavin has consistently impressed me. In this age of cut throat business its the little things that count.

    Amen

To wagg's ( spokesman for xelerator ) sorry, you caught me out !!!!

Fact remains, he is a customer and not a dealer, with no happy ending.

    Cheers
