Not really, especially at this time of year... U might be able to fly a trainer (max 4m) on the Bushmans river side, there is a big sand bank on low tide, but unless you know what ur doing, forget it... Its not a great spot, lots of ways to get stuffed up... Maybe find some of the local kiters and find out about Cannon Rocks, works on an Easterly, but get some local advice if your still learning... hope that helps

it's better to burn out than fade away...

Re: Kite Boarding in and around Kenton-on-Sea

Main beach in Kenton is not too bad, have actually flown there a few times on the high tide (sandbank on low)  near the big parking lot further sw (before bushmans river mouth 33,41,20/26.40.36 on google earth), not near the kariega river mouth as that gets way too turbulent....have heard of guys getting seriously out of there comfort zone that side.

cannon rocks is fantastic, (33,44,41/26,33.34 on google earth) but you need to head there 2 hours either side of high tide or you are "on the rocks". wind at this time of year is not great  (unpredictable). works best on ene through to se, but not bad on a sw either. The wreck on the beach never really gets in the way, just dont boost too big near it when the tide allows you to get close....

I have not flown there for over a year now, (as can be seen by my location) but it used to be my favourite spot. A couple of the guys also head to port alfred, west beach usually but east not bad either. There are a few Port Alfred based guys but a few based in Grahamstown too who used to head there on weekends.

Port Elizabeth is pretty much a safe bet and only an hour from Kenton. PLenty of Kiters in "the windy city" Kings beach if it's east or Sardinia bay in a westerly.

    Good luck and enjoy
