    Seli 1

I am in the UK and seen pictures of helicopters and police on land and around the boat. Is there any thing happening at the moment?

They're busy removing the coal, and aparantly burning some of it - nice braai smell coming off it while surfing neerby this evening.

I can't see any storm moving that ship - hopefully it'll rust away into a nice artificial reef.

Now it just creates a very big wind shadow halfway to Doodles.

    Cheers

    Andre

    Re: Seli 1

On the upside its stopped pissing and farting the rancid stench of filthy oil into the water and air downwind. On the downside god only knows what is going to come leaking out of that rust-bucket it when it starts to break up.

Filthy diesel-bedaubed gobs of oil from the engine sumps... carcinogenic pcb's that cause man-boob tumours... asbestos crud from cabin insulation giving us silicosis of the main bladder...

Wiping at high speed of off a wave and impaling yourself on a rusty derrick sticking out of the sandbar is only the half of it.

    We're all doomed. Doooomed.

In that case I will be Kiting up wind from now on.

Never heard of a Turk called Rusty Derrick must have had English parents. You should only get silicosis of the main bladder if you drop your kite.

Hi Manta Nice to see you are still keeping up with what is happening here in the mothercity. The wonders of technology. FYI sea rescue were using seli1 for training in case of the real deal. It was apparently a big exercise, with boats, helicopters, divers etc. Nice to know the huge chunk of unsightly metal actually has some use.

    Re: Seli 1

I read in the paper that there is inter-politics (as there always are) about the guy who's been removing the coal and his "partner". The partner will now take over and continue removing the coal. Apparently there is quite some money owed to the partner. According to the paper article the coal is just being off loaded in the harbour where it has to remain for a duration of time. Its also stated that the coal has a net worth of around R10 mill. The due date for the removal of the coal was end of February which has now been extended to the end of March. This was caused by the change of ownership and the original guy is apparently immigrating to Australia....mmmm....sounds like some or other corruption scam again!!!
