    F-ONE Bandit 4 - Mauritius

    Hey All,

Bruce is currently over in Mauritius at the F-One dealer conference. I haven't had any feedback from him on the kites and I can't get hold of him as he is obviously not getting off the water BUT I have got a few photos that he sent through.

Hopefully, I will be able to get you some detailed feedback later but you will have to be content with the photos for the moment

    Cheers Rob

    Re: F-ONE Bandit 4 - Mauritius

Phew its been a long day - what a pleasure flying out of King Shaka Airport though -

Arrived last night at the Indian resort and was up this morning around 9 to make a start on all the new gear. I was truly impressed at just how much gear FONE have brought over. 25 - 30 Surfboards 20 odd new Twin tips and around 20 Bandit 4's - not to mention the new SUP's ... And there is still a shipment of kites and all the board components stuck in customs. So today we all had to ride strapless ...

Firstly the new surfboards - they have extended the range and now have 5-2 5-4 5-6 5-8 5-10 6-0 6-2 6-4. The boards are the same bamboo finish as the current ones - there are a few more pin tails and there is now a double concave on the bottom deck. New straps are also introduced but we have not seen them ! These boards truly are going to make a huge impression ...

The kites well - we have become used to the rock solid build quality and attention to details and this is truly evident in the B4. I only rode 11m and 12 m today as the wind was not that strong and I did not want to get caught with not enough power to get back from one-eye ... The B4 has the same smooth feel that the b3 has - out the bag unhooking the kite is stable and solid. Turning speed I would say that compared to the B3 - B4 is def more responsive. Relaunch is also better - they have made some nice changes on the de-power line - which makes triming the depower much easier - as similar system is employed in the cut away system on the chicken loop. True to FONE style the bar is clean and simple - we still have B3 bars here with the new additions. From what I have seen definitely more top-end - had the 12m out in 22 knots or so and very comfortable - even strapless at one-eye - little bit overpowered when on the face ... but was happy to have all that power when it was time to head for home and had plenty of grunt to get back around the point !Pretty cool kiting with Mitu - he was on an 8m ! Some of the stuff he does on a wave you really need to rewind and watch again ...

Still got to get the tt's out - hopefully Raphael has sorted out the customs stuff - he was in Port Louis today ...

Wind looks good again tomorrow and the weekend looks a bit quiet which will be perfect to check the Source out - the FONE guys are super confident about this product and so are the team riders !

Indian Resort continues to rock - can't be many better places to kite - I think the beach is 10 paces from my room and all the kites are still inflated on the grass under the trees so you don't have to put them away ...

Price are a bit steep - R 60 for a can of beer - come alive ! Been into town already and stocked up ...

    Will update tomorrow
