Mombasa - went there for work about 5 years ago before I started kiting.
There was already a kite and windsurf centre at the Nyali Beach hotel
and the kitesurfing scene was healthy. Mostly British tourists on kite
holidays. That particular spot had a reef protecting a lagoon, so you
had a choice of flat water or waves at the reef further out. Fantastic.
