Its entirely up to you and your experience in kiting if you want to wear booties or not. If you are still learning or intermediate i would recommend you take a pair with you. There are bits of sharp coral everywhere on the sea bed not to mention stonefish....something you do not want to get stung by trust me.

Hi , yes you can kite around Bel Ombre, it depends what you are doing, i have never wave ridden there, but if its freestyle inside the reef its cool, you can also do a downwinder to Le Morne. But i suggest you kite with someone. There are to large reef channels near Bel Ombre, so be very careful as currents are very strong on the out going tides. ...
